Privacy Policy

What Homebit keeps on your device, what optional diagnostics may leave it, and the choices you control.

Last updated 2026-10-16

Plain-language summary. Your rooms are designed to stay on your device. Optional product analytics remain off until you choose to enable them, and you can turn them off again from the app.

1. Who this policy is for

This policy covers the Homebit mobile application and the public Homebit website. “Homebit”, “we”, “us” and “our” refer to the publisher of the Homebit project.

The publisher of Homebit is Stan Leon. For any privacy question or request, contact contact@stanleon.cc.

2. Data kept on your device

Homebit stores the rooms you create — including room names, layouts, objects and finishes — in a local database on your device. An account is not required for this core experience, and room designs are not included in our analytics events.

You control this local content. It remains until you delete it in the app, clear the app’s data or remove the app, subject to the behaviour of your device backups.

3. Optional product analytics

Homebit can use PostHog to understand whether key parts of the editor work as intended. This collection is disabled by default and starts only after you make an explicit choice in the app.

When enabled, events may describe actions such as creating, opening, renaming or saving a room; placing an object; changing a finish; screen views; save timing; and sanitised load, save or application errors. Technical context such as the app environment may also be attached.

We configure analytics so that:

  • person profiles, session replay, push tracking and general feature-flag polling are disabled;
  • room IDs, room names, room designs, email addresses, free-form text, messages and URLs are excluded or filtered from event properties;
  • analytics can be disabled again from the app’s privacy controls.

4. Voluntary surveys

If analytics are enabled, Homebit may display a PostHog survey. Answering is optional. Any response you submit is used to improve the product and may be processed by PostHog.

5. Website delivery and security

The Homebit website is delivered through Cloudflare. Like most hosting and security providers, Cloudflare may process request data such as IP addresses, request timestamps, browser or device information, and security signals to deliver the site, detect abuse and maintain service reliability.

The public landing page does not currently contain an account form, newsletter form or advertising tracker.

6. Why data is processed

Optional in-app analytics and survey processing rely on your consent. You may refuse or withdraw that consent without losing the room-building features that work locally. Website request data is processed as necessary to deliver and secure the website and to pursue our legitimate interest in operating a reliable service.

7. Service providers and international transfers

PostHog processes optional analytics and survey data using the production host configured for the United States. Cloudflare provides website delivery, hosting and security through a global network. These providers may process data outside your country. Their contractual and legal transfer safeguards apply where required.

8. Retention

Local room content remains on your device as described above. Your analytics choice remains available to the app until you change it or reset the app’s data. The analytics retention schedule will be stated here once confirmed.

9. Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to the processing of your personal data, request portability, and withdraw consent. You may also complain to your local data protection authority. In France, that authority is the CNIL.

For optional analytics, the first practical control is the permanent opt-out available in Homebit. For other requests, write to contact@stanleon.cc.

10. Children

Homebit does not ask for a date of birth and is not designed to collect personal information from children. If Homebit becomes directed to children or introduces online accounts, social features or purchases, this section and the product controls will be updated before launch.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as Homebit’s features and service providers change. The date at the top of the page will show the latest revision. Material changes will be presented in a clear way before they take effect where required.
